Psychologists suggest that the first two weeks after a crisis are the most unifying. However, the U.S. hasn’t seen an increase in patriotism like the one after 9/11.
There has been a general decrease in social trust (trust in a wide variety and types of people).
There hasn’t been an increase in solidarity or connection to the community. This might be because social distancing separates us just as we are trying to come together.
There also hasn’t been an increase in people believing their neighbors would help them.
